Born in Bissau, City's new boy started his career with Sporting CP's farm team in Guinea-Bissau, Sporting Clube de Bissau. In 2008 he moved to the Sporting Club de Portugal in Lisbon to continue his development, helping it to back-to-back junior championships, scoring 13 goals in 29 games between 2008–09 in the process.

The player was to split the 2010–11 season, his first as a senior, between C.D. Santa Clara (second division) and CD Badajoz (Spanish third level).  He was to join several of his Sporting team mates during a loan period at Cercle Brugge K.S.V. in Belgium.

Baldé was released by Sporting in the summer of 2012. On 28 August he signed with fellow Primeira Liga team Vitória de Guimarães, making his debut on 21 September as a late substitute in a 1–0 away win against Moreirense FC.

A move to Glasgow Celtic was to follow on 13 June 2013, with the player signing a four-year contract with the then Scottish Premier League Champions. On arrival, he stated that his new team were "one of the best clubs in Europe and they are going to play in the Champions League."  He made his official debut on 23 July, replacing James Forrest for the last 15 minutes of the second leg of the Champions League qualifier against Cliftonville.

Baldé scored his first competitive goal on 28 September 2013, coming in as a late substitute and netting the last goal in a 5–2 win at Kilmarnock. On 27 October, at Partick Thistle, he took the field in the 67th minute and scored the winner in a 2-1 victory eight minutes later.

The striker played for several more clubs including a brief stay in Libya with Al-Nasr SC, before moving to Indonesia in February 2019 agreeing to a deal at Persebaya Surabaya.  Here he was to score five times in nine Liga 1 matches in the first half of the season, including a hat-trick in a 4–0 victory over Persib Bandung on 5 July 2019. He also finished joint-top scorer in the country's cup tournament, the Piala Indonesia, with 10 goals along with PSM Makassar's Zulham Zamrun.  However, the return of David da Silva to the team during the mid-season transfer window saw Baldé become surplus to requirements and on 31 August he signed for another Indonesian club, PSM, scoring on his debut the following day (66th minute) to help the hosts beat Persela Lamongan 2–1.  He was to have a mixed final appearance for PSM away to Barito Putera.  Scoring in the 75th minute before being shown the red card on 85 minutes in PSM's 2-3 defeat.
