Founded in 1976 as Sông Bé F.C and named after the Bé River, a well known river in Bình Dương Province.
January 1997 renamed as Bình Dương FC when Sông Bé Province was divided into 2 parts, namely Bình Dương and Bình Phước.
1998 Bình Dương FC were relegated from the First Division and suffered a number of years from a lack of investment.
2002 Bình Dương Football Joint-stock Company was founded with Bình Dương FC being taken over by both Bình Dương Television Broadcaster (BTV) and Becamex IDC, the strongest multi-industry economy corporation in Bình Dương. The team was subsequently renamed as Becamex Bình Dương.
2003 Becamex Bình Dương win promotion to the V.League, marking the emergence of the new football powerhouse in Vietnam.
2007 and 2008 Bình Dương won consecutive V-League titles. A feat that was to be repeated in 2014 and 2015.
2015 and 2018 The club win the Vietnamese National Football Cup.
2019 B. Bình Dương reach the AFC Cup Zonal Final losing to Vietnamese rivals Hà Nội FC.

How to Get to the SVĐ Gò Đậu
Apart from Sài Gòn FC who ground share the SVĐ Thống Nhất with City, B. Bình Dương are City's closest opponents. Indeed the two cities are only 32kms apart making this journey the easiest you will make. Bình Dương's stadium, The SVĐ Gò Đậu can be reached by leaving HCM on the QL13. The journey should take no longer than 2 hours depending on traffic conditions.
Bike - Because of the closeness of the two teams it is possible to get to the SVĐ Gò Đậu by motorbike. This might prove to be the most convenient method for some.
Bus - There will be many bus companies that complete the journey between HCM and Bình Dương.
