Route 1 : If City win in Buriram Thailand and then are successful in defeating Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG, they will find themselves in Group H of the 2020 AFC Champions League and can look forward to trips to Australia (Sydney Utd), Japan (Yokohama F. Marinos) and Korea (Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC).
Route 2 : If City were to lose against either Buriram Utd or Shanghai SIPG, they will find themselves in ASEAN Group F of the 2020 AFC Cup with trips to Singapore (Hougang Utd), Laos (Lao FC) and either Myanmar or Brunei depending on the outcome of their Qualifying Play Off.
Which ever route City ultimately find themselves following, history will be made.
