Player News - One player that will definitely be missing from tomorrow's game away to SHB Đà Nẵng is No 71 Công Thành was has been banned for two games,  This means that he will also miss the game against Thanh Hóa to be played on 15th June 2019 at the SVĐ Thống Nhất.

The team has arrived in Đà Nẵng ahead of Thursday's game against SHB Đà Nẵng.  The game will be played at the SVĐ Hòa Xuân and kick off is at 17:00.  City's No 10 Trần Phi Sơn has made the trip.  However, No 11 Matias has remained in HCM as he continues treatment on his fracture.

Vietnam's Provincial Squad for the upcoming King's Cup has been released and shamefully but not surprisingly there is no-one from HCMC in the squad.  Rather Coach Park has decided to play it politically safe and pick players who are not performing for their domestic team, are not even playing for there domestic team or are still recovering from injury.  This is a real kick in the teeth for those City players who have performed so well this season helping City go 5 points clear at the top of the league.

Selection News :  Captain Kesley (77) and Lê Hoàng Thiên (19) are available after injury.  Phạm Công Hiển (28) is available after suspension.

Injury News : It is anticipated that Trần Phi Sơn (10) will be available for selection for the trip to SHB Đà Nẵng on Friday 30th May.

Fixtures have been released for Weeks 14 to 21.  Stand out fixtures are a trips to Viettel on Sunday 7th July, Thanh Hóa on Sunday 21st July and Quảng Nam on Saturday 10th August.  Home games include the local derby against B. Bình Dương on Friday 12th July and of course the big one, the visit of current champions Hà Nội FC on Friday 26th July.

City left it late to snatch all three points on Friday night.  Goals from Joel (11 minutes) and Ngô Hoàng Thịnh (92 minutes) ensured City left Cẩm Phả with all three points and maintained their position at the summit of V-League 1

Player News : According to sources, City midfielder Đỗ Văn Thuận has signed a three year contract extension.  This is fantastic news and is just reward and recognition for his outstanding form.   It is also being reported that the injury to goalkeeper Nguyễn Thanh Thắng is not as bad as first thought.  It is believed that he will be out for up to two weeks.

City were held to a 1-1 draw by 10 man Quảng Nam FC side at a rain socked SVĐ Thống Nhất tonight but maintained their place at the summit of the Wake-Up 247 V-League 1 table after Hà Nội's surprising 1-4 defeat at Thanh Hóa.  The game saw the return of No. 11 Matias after an eternity on the sidelines and No. 94 Joel who was returning from the injury sustained against Hà Nội a fortnight ago.  Matias' return to action also saw him score his first goal of the season in the 18th minute turning in a cross from No. 18 Quang Nam.

City overcame the sending off of No 28 Phạm Công Hiển on the hour mark and some highly dubious refereeing to record a superb 2-1 away win at S. Khánh Hòa.  Goals from No 8 Trần Thanh Bình on 31 minutes and No 4 Nguyễn Tăng Tiến two minutes from time were enough to send City back to the summit of the Wake-Up 247 V-League 1 Table.

The team completed it's final training session at the SVĐ 19/8 Nha Trang in preparation for tomorrow's game.  City will be aiming to reclaim top spot after Hà Nội FC's 2-2 draw away to Becamex Bình Dương earlier today.

City’s squad for tomorrow’s game against S. Khánh Hòa has been released. As expected there is no Joel (94) in the squad. Joel’s place is taken by midfielder Đào Quốc Gia (30). Otherwise it is the same squad as Hà Nội. Matias meanwhile continues on his road to recovery.

Short piece in today's Football-Tribe.com regarding Coach Chung Hae Seong.  The piece reports on the managers that they consider to be the Best New Manager in South East Asia.  It is no surprise to anyone involved at HCMC FC that Coach Chung Hae Seong is considered to be the best.  The influence that he has brought in his short time at the club is in-measurable.

City Injury Update : The following players are being reported on the official club facebook page as being fully fit and available for selection on Monday against S. Khánh Hòa BVN : 88 Epassi, 22 A Sân, 17 Minh Trung & 25 Thanh Diệp. 11 Matias and 9 Ngô Hoàng Thịnh are seeing the medical staff prior to be given the all clear. Meanwhile, 94 Joel Vinicius, 19 Lê Hoàng Thiên, 10 Phi Sơn & 32 Quang Huy are still unavailable for selection.

It is being reported on Bóng đá TV that midfielder Trần Phi Sơn has suffered a set back in his injury recovery and is now due to return mid-June.  The new problem appears to be an ankle injury sustained during training.  There is better news regarding No. 9 Ngô Hoàng Thịnh who sustained his injury during the victory over Viettel FC on 20th April 2019 at the SVĐ Thống Nhất.  It is being reported that he will be available for City's next game away to S. Khánh Hòa BVN on Monday 6th May 2019.  Other injuries to Matias and Christian there are no official updates whilst Joel remains in Hà Nội.
