City midfielder Đặng Quang Huy (32) is the latest player to leave the club.  Since joining City in 2018 from XSKT Cần Thơ where he was on loan from parent club Hải Phòng FC, the 27 year old made just 6 appearances in a City career blighted with injury.  In fact, Đặng Quang Huy's only appearance during the 2019 season was at home against Hải Phòng FC in the season opener.

Võ Huy Toàn Signs For City.jpg

Midfielder Võ Huy Toàn today joined City from SHB Đà Nẵng on a 2 year contract.  The 26 year old played a total of 79 games for his former club.  2019 was one where he was beset by injury.  Võ Huy Toàn comes with international experience having played 8 times for Vietnam split between U23 and Full Team sides (appearance figures as per Wikipedia and requiring confirmation)

AFC Champions League Qualifying Rounds.j

The route to the Group Stages of the 2020 AFC Champions League has been released.  City's first game is in the 2nd Qualifying Round away to Thai Premier League Runners-Up Buriram United.  The date of the game is being touted as 21st January 2020 although this has yet to be confirmed by the club.  Victory in Thailand would see City on the road again in the Final Qualifier away to the 3rd Placed Team in the Chinese Super League.  This date is reportedly 28th January 2020.  

 

Travel and ticket details will be available on this site once the date for Buriram Utd has been confirmed.  Under AFC regulations, City can expect to receive 1,600 tickets for the game.

Nguyễn Xuân Nam Signs For City.jpg

City today announced the signing of 25 year old forward Nguyễn Xuân Nam from Phố Hiến FC.  Having previously played for Hà Nội FC (5 apps) and Sài Gòn FC (29 apps 7 goals), the striker made 13 appearances scoring 15 times as Phố Hiến FC unsuccessfully sought promotion to V-League 1 losing 0-1 to Thanh Hóa in the Relegation/Promotion Play-Off.

City midfielder Phạm Công Hiển has become the latest player to put pen to paper and has extended his contract until 2021.  Since joining City in 2015, the 27 year old has made a total of 69 appearances scoring 5 times (as per available information).

Nguyễn Tăng Tiến Signs New Contract.jpg

City defender Nguyễn Tăng Tiến has become the latest player to put pen to paper signing a contract extension for the 2020 season.  Since joining City from Hoàng Anh Gia Lai in 2019, the 25 year old has made 9 apperances (5 from the bench).  His full debut for City came in Week 2 against his old employees coming on to replace Vũ Ngọc Thịnh (20) in the 2-1 away victory in Pleiku.

The club have confirmed that the playeers will report back for training on 5th December as they prepare for the 2020 Season and the assult on three fronts - V-League 1, National Cup and for the first time in the club's history, the AFC Champions League.

City midfielder Vũ Quang Nam has put pen to paper and signed a contract extension until 2021.  Since joining City in 2017 from Huế and making his full debut against Sanna Khánh Hòa BVN in the National Cup on 3rd June 2017, the 27 year old old has made 57 appearances for City scoring 3 times.  Quang Nam is a versatile player able to play either on the wing or as a second striker.

Coach Chung Hae-soung was honoured at last night's End of Season Gala Awatds evening in Hà Nội being named Manager of the Year 2019.  City's defender Nguyễn Hữu Tuấn was also honoured being named in the 2019 Team of the Year.  Both awards are recognition of the hard work that the team has put as a whole over the 2019 Season finishing second to Hà Nội FC and reaching the National Cup Semi-Finals before losing out, again to Hà Nội FC.  Ho Chi Minh City FC were named as Team of the Year for 2019

On the day that it was announced that Coach Chung Hae-soung had signed a Contract Extension until 2021, it was also announced that Club Captain Kesley was to leave the club.  During his time with City, Kesley made a total of 22 appearances scoring 7 times.

Kesley has made a major impact at the club passing on his undoubted experience to the younger players and www.hcmcfc.net would like to express its absolute gratitude to both a fantastic player and an amazing human being.

Coach Chung Hae-soung has undoubtedly done an amazing job at City turning the club around from a side escaping relegation to one challenging for domestic honours.  Under his leadership, City won 14 times in V-League 1, drawing 6 and losing 6.  Finishing the season in 2nd Place.  Coach Chung also steered City to the Semi-Final of the National Cup losing in controversial fashion to evential Double Winners Hà Nội FC.  

4th November 2019

It has been announced that both Victor Mansaray and Ismaheel Akinade will be leaving the club now that the season has finished.  Both players made a huge impact on joining the club for the second half of the season.  www.hcmcfc.net would like to wish them both all the best in their future careers.

During their time with City, Victor made 9 appearances scoring 5 times.  Ismaheel made a total of 10 appearances scoring 4 times.

It has been confirmed that City defender Christian is to leave the club.  During his stay at City, Christian made 18 appearances scoring once.
