V-League 1 is back and is due to restart on the weekend of 5-6-7th June.  There is a fundamental change in the structure of the league.  A change that was forwarded by City Coach Chung Hae-seong.  The remainder of the 2020 Season will be loosely based on the Korean Model.  Rounds 1 and 2 will stand so City will restart the season on 6 points which is great news.  The season will then progress as normal for the remainder of Phase 1 of the season (13 games) which will be completed between 5th June and 2nd August.  From Week 14 the format changes.    Phase 2 will see the league split into what would essentially be two mini leagues.  The top eight clubs will play on a home and away basis to determine the 2020 Champions.  The bottom six clubs will compete to determine relegation.  Only one side will be relegated this season with no relegation/promotion play-off.  Phase 2 will be completed between 14th August and 25th October.

City were beaten 0-2 by V-League 2 side Bà Rịa Vũng Tàu in a behind closed doors friendly.  Unfortunately there is no news regarding the game - scorers, team sheets etc as the club chose not to mention the game to fans nor release any game information apart from the result.  This secrecy by the club has led to several news agencies speculating problems within the City ranks.
